You’re gonna have to look long and hard to find a comic book as fun as this one. I’ve loved the series over all, and Jack Avarice Is The Courier #4 is no exception. It’s got the same thing that the previous three issues had — great art, a fun story, and it’s also got a lot of heart.
Writer Chris Madden delivers big again in this issue. I really can’t say enough about this book, folks. If you’re not reading it, you’re really missing out. There are a lot of fun Easter eggs in this (and every) issue of the series so far. What I like most about this book is that it doesn’t take itself seriously at all. Madden sets out to tell an entertaining story, and that what he does. It’s a fun, page-turning, can’t wait for the next issue book that will have you on the edge of your seat.
As an artist, Madden is headed for the big time. I really think it’s just a matter of time before another company snatches him up and puts him on something big. I can easily see him drawing Spider-Man, a Hulk book, or a really fun DC comic. As for this issue, it’s more of the same great art that we’ve seen in the past from him. He draws a lot of characters that just “happen” to look like famous TV & movie stars, and even if you don’t recognize who they’re supposed to be, it takes nothing away from the kinetic art that he does so well.
Another great issue in this 5-issue limited series. Huge cliffhangers on every page, mystery, suspense, and most of all – FUN. I can’t recommend this book highly enough. You’re not gonna regret picking up Jack Avarice Is The Courier.
