On January 17, 2012 Quirk Books and debut author Jason Heller of The A.V. Club will be giving readers a brand new look at one of America’s 27th president, William Howard Taft, with Taft 2012.
The novel is a “what if” kind of book that looks at the possibility of Taft falling asleep for 100 years and waking to a whole new world. The distinguished gentleman is transported into a brand new world that is rich with technology and rapid social changes. In Taft 2012, we see what happens when William Howard Taft continues his presidential campaign to become the next President of The United States of America in the face of a vastly different society.
To promote the book, Quirk is running a series of campaign ads discussing Taft’s opinion of important hot button issues like Heath Care, Public Finance, and Education. And while you’ll be seeing more of these in the future, Quirk wanted Geeks of Doom to be the first to show you this video here below of William Howard Taft’s opinions on Free Enterprise.
Taft 2012 will be released on January 17, 2012 in paperback and for Kindle, just in time for election season. For more information on the book and hear more of the presidential candidate’s platform and much more, head over to the official Taft 2012 website.
Having snoozed away the years like a Presidential Rip Van Winkle, William Howard Taft awakens just in time for the 2012 Election, untouched by age and hungry as ever. Jason Heller brilliantly chronicles Taft’s second life, the story of a gentle giant who never wanted to be president in the first place, as he tries to survive in a country that has and hasn’t changed much since he was stuck in the White House bathtub.
