Another young actor has been added to the cast of Ender’s Game, the adaptation of the Orson Scott Card science fiction novel.
Brendan Meyer, star of the Disney XD TV series Mr. Young, has been chosen for the role of Stilson, a classmate of Ender (played by Hugo star Asa Butterfield) who bullies and taunts him while they are at Ground School.
Ender’s Game tells the story of a young boy who’s a genius when it comes to strategy, leading him to be chosen by the International Fleet to help them defeat an alien race known as the Formics.
The movie will be written and directed by Gavin Hood (Tsotsi, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, Romeo and Juliet [2012]) and Sir Ben Kingsley (Ghandi, Shutter Island) are currently in negotiations for other roles.

I hope these kids they’re picking have the chops to pull this off. These aren’t your average ordinary everyday kids. We’re talking about a child selected for military training at the age of 6. His whole thought process is above and beyond most adults alive today.
They better not botch this movie. This is one of my favorite sci-fi novels.
