Yup, apparently the world has truly done away with anything remotely resembling an original idea.
Variety is reporting that the pair of Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel (the same pair behind films like Hot Tub Time Machine) have been tapped by Universal to pen the script for a new sequel in the Bruce Almighty franchise. With the hopes of star Jim Carrey being rather high, it appears as though this will indeed be a direct sequel to Bruce and not the awful Evan Almighty, so while it doesn’t sound too interesting, there is definitely that.
The film at this point is in the very earliest of stages of development, with director Tom Shadyac not attached to direct this project. Personally, I despised the first film so this project has absolutely no stock in my eyes. The film is beyond deplorable, and while the idea of seeing this team get behind this project does make the project a bit more interesting, this proves that Hollywood doesn’t have an original bone in its body.
What do you think?

Wasn’t into the first one really. Evan Almighty was good though. Saying it is awful, well from people obsessed with twilight it is not surprising to hear a comment like that.
