The LA Times has a preview of the upcoming Judd Apatow movie, This is 40, which is a spin-off of his 2007 comedy Knocked Up.
The movie focuses on Pete (Paul Rudd), Debbie (Leslie Mann), and their two daughters Sadie (Maude Apatow) and Charlotte (Iris Apatow), who were all at the heart of Knocked Up as Debbie’s little sister Alison (Katherine Heigl) accidentally gets pregnant after a one night stand with Ben (Seth Rogen), a stoner and lovable loser type she met at a club one night.

This is 40 picks up a few years after Knocked Up as Pete’s music label is facing some difficulties and the couple finds themselves relying on Debbie’s dress store, with employees Jodi (Charlene Yi) and Desi (Megan Fox), to bring in enough to support their family.
Speaking on the movie, Mann—who, for those who don’t know, is Apatow’s real-life wife—said:
It’s about getting older. What the hell happened? Am I making all the right choices? Is this where I’m supposed to be? Is this it? All of those dreams that you had when you were young, all of the possibilities, when you lock into marriage and kids, do the possibilities dwindle or go away?
This is 40 hits theaters on December 21, 2012.
