You win some, and you lose some.
According to Deadline, following the failure that was Abduction, not only has star Taylor Lautner been jettisoned from the long-talked-about Stretch Armstrong film, but Universal as a studio has left as well. However, they haven’t lost everything yet. Relativity has come in to sweep up the pieces, and will be releasing the film on April 11, 2014.
That’s right, over two years from now we’ll finally be seeing yet another Hasbro toy line getting its own film. Personally, as a kid who never had a Stretch Armstrong toy, I have absolutely no connection to the character, and honestly, there is nearly no way for this sucker to work on screen. The toy itself is a character that is inherently kind of silly and will make for a real bastard to try and get to the big screen, at least in any way that is kind of remotely intriguing.
What do you think?
