Catherine Hardwicke‘s Twilight started the craze in 2008 with teens everywhere taking sides as either Team Edward or Team Jacob. Based on the books by Stephenie Meyer, young Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) was the envy of every girl, to have the heart of sparkly vampire, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and abs-olutely hunky Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).

In this first movie in The Twilight Saga, Bella Swan is a shy girl, reluctantly leaving her mother’s home in sunny Phoenix to go live with her father, Charlie (Billy Burke), whom she does not know so well, in the not so sunny Forks, Washington. Her mom remarried and is going on the road with her new husband, a minor league baseball player.

Starting a new school is never easy, but Bella does make some new friends. She also seems to have earned the derision of Edward Cullen, a handsome, mysterious boy, of whom she quickly becomes obsessed with. She can’t understand what his issue is, until one day he saves her from a car accident. That’s when the romance of it all starts, the push and pull, the soft piano, the vampire reveal, and fate brings forth the sighs from women of all ages. He finally admits that he can’t stay away from her scent and she’s fallen madly in love as well. After an awkward meeting with the Cullen family, they catch the attention of a tracker, James (Cam Cigandet), a vicious vampire who wants Bella.

I won’t say anymore, although I know that anyone who buys this are Twihards looking to add to their collection and know the story, but I will say that I actually think I enjoyed the movie more this time around. I actually got teary eyed at the love story. Romance with no sex! Romance with barely any kisses! It’s sort of dreamy. I used to be Team Jacob, but I think I’m Team Edward now. And I’ve always been Team Emmett.

Blu-ray Special Features:

Audio Commentary with Catherine Hardwicke, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson: It is what it is, but if you want to hear some comments from Edward and Bella, then you should watch with the commentary on.

Music Videos: Stephenie Meyer and Catherine Hardwicke introduce the videos. The video by Muse of “Supermassive Black Hole” is an excellent song. This song plays during the baseball game which is a great scene, and the catalyst for the rest of the movie. Paramore wrote the end credit song “Decode” and the video shows scenes throughout. “Leave Out All the Rest” by Linkin Park is fantastic and bittersweet as we listen and watch the magic of Chester Bennington mesmerize us more than maybe the movie does.

Extended Scenes: The extended scenes are in the special features, but if you want to watch the movie with the extended scenes included, then watch the digital copy.

Deleted Scenes: Catherine Hardwicke introduces the deleted scenes. They are short and sweet and include one of Kristen Stewart’s favorite scenes.

The Adventure Begins: The Journey From Page To Screen: There is so much in here. This gives you it all – from the very beginning to pre-production, to the best scene ever (vampire baseball), the final battle, to post production.

The Comic-Con Phenomenon: This is the first San Diego Comic-Con that Twilight appeared and it’s really adorable to see them all so young, nervous, and amazed at how much everyone loves these characters. Taylor Lautner looks about 14 years old.

Theatrical Campaign:: Includes a world premiere sneak peek, teaser trailers, and full trailers.
