Hot on the heels of the recent Super Bowl TV spot Walt Disney Pictures released another preview for their sci-fi adventure John Carter last night during the premiere of the ABC series The River.

It’s no secret that Disney, as well as newbie live-action director Andrew Stanton and untested leading man Taylor Kitsch, have a great deal of time, money, and resources riding on how this movie is received by the general public. John Carter looks to be as visually stunning as a 21st century adaptation of the beloved Edgar Rice Burroughs character could possibly be, but the quality of the acting and script is still up in the air (somewhere near Barsoom I believe). Disney has been ramping up the promotional machine in advance of the film’s release next month. Time will tell if John Carter is the smashing success everyone involved is hoping it has the potential to be, but at the very least the movie won’t have much serious competition at the box office during it’s first month of release outside of The Hunger Games and Wrath of the Titans.

Still this new spot has more new footage than the preview that aired during the Super Bowl, and the movie is looking better and better with each new trailer. What do you think?
