After losing their star in Lily Collins and finding her replacement in Jane Levy, the rest of the cast for the remake of Sam Raimi‘s cult classic, The Evil Dead, is coming together.
Consisting of lesser-known and unknown actors and actresses, the cast also currently features Shiloh Fernandez and Lou Taylor Pucci in addition to Levy.
Now comes word that Jessica Lucas has entered into talks to join the remake, where she would play a nurse and the best friend to Levy’s lead character, a girl with drug problems who heads to the remote cabin deep in the woods with her friends to try and get sober.
Lucas starred in the J.J. Abrams-produced and Matt Reeves-directed found footage monster movie Cloverfield, The Covenant, and the TV series remakes of Melrose Place and 90210.
Elizabeth Blackmore has also been newly cast.
The Evil Dead will be directed by Fede Alvarez, with Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Rob Tapert all acting as producers.
