Earlier in the week, a teaser was released for the full trailer for Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus, with a screening of it planned for today at a special invitation-only premiere at Downtown Disney’s AMC Theaters in Anaheim, CA.
While the post-screening Q&A with the film’s screenwriter Damon Lindelof was underway, AMC released the Prometheus full theatrical trailer online.

The Geeks of Doom crew is over at WonderCon, also being held in Anaheim, so be sure to check out our coverage of today’s Prometheus panel, which includes a photo of the special Weyland Industries business card handed out at the Con and to watch the new viral video released today.
As far as the trailer goes, yeah, this is amazing. Scott’s long-awaited return to the world of large-scale cinematic sci-fi is everything I could have possibly wanted. I love how we’re shown so much fascinating imagery and ideas in the span of less than three minutes and still the mystery, wonder, and bone-chilling horror of what we’re not shown is perfectly preserved. Prometheus looks to be Scott’s most spectacular film in terms of story and visuals in ages, and it’s all in the glory of 3D. If the director can utilize 3D as brilliantly as Martin Scorsese did recently in Hugo, then we’re in for one hell of a ride this summer.
Prometheus opens on June 8, 2012.

Just watched the Alien and Prometheus trailer back to back…I want Prometheus to be as intense as Alien.Â
