If you’ve been to any Disney theme park, then you might have seen Duffy the Disney Bear. I know that the American Pavilion in EPCOT is overrun with Duffy for some reason. If you don’t know who Duffy is, don’t worry – basically, he’s a very adorable teddy bear with a Mickey Mouse stamp on his feet (and his behind too now that I look at my purple Duffy bear).

And now, Disney is making a Jedi version of Duffy!

The story behind Jedi Duffy is that he’s an enrolled in the Jedi Training Academy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (in Disney World in Orlando, FL). The padawan bear even wears the Jedi Training Academy t-shirt, along with the brown hooded Jedi robe, and carries a lightsaber that lights up – yes, I said it lights up!

If it’s not obvious that I want a Jedi Duffy bear, let me made it clear: I WANT a Jedi Duffy the Disney Bear complete with light-up lightsaber!

Jedi Duffy will be available at Disney parks this Spring. Check out the photos of him here below, one of which shows his lightsaber lit.

Denise Edelmaier, who is the Disney’s product developer for Plush and Dolls, told the Disney Parks Blog that Duffy’s Jedi attire is part of the company’s “strategy of introducing costumes for Duffy that are directly related to experiences found only at Disney Parks.”

There will also be two new plush dolls later this Spring: Donald Duck as Darth Maul will be available in time for Star Wars Weekends 2012 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and mid-Summer at the Disneyland Resort in California. The other item is a Jedi Master Yoda wearing a Mouseketeer hat which will arrive to the Disney parks in California and Florida in this May.

According to Disney Parks Blog, these items will not be offered via the Disney Parks Online Store. Once released, you can contact Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Merchandise Guest Services at 1-877-560-6477 or via email – merchandiseguestservices@disney.go.com – to place an order.
