As the latest installment in the James Bond movie franchise, titled Skyfall, sees its first trailer arriving, another Bond-related project is materializing.
It’s being reported that up-and-coming director Duncan Jones has signed on to make a new biopic about Ian Fleming, the creator of the eternally appealing super spy, James Bond.
The movie will be adapted from Fleming’s biography, Ian Fleming: The Man Behind James Bond by author Andrew Lycett, by screenwriter Matt Brown.
Before getting into writing and creating Bond, Fleming had his own adventures that inspired the character. He was a British Naval Intelligence officer during World War II. He also created a unit of commandos called 30AU (30 Assault Unit), a group of special intelligence troops tasked with acquiring enemy documents.
Jones is best known for his highly praised directorial debut, Moon, and his sophomore effort, Source Code.
The director is currently casting the project, which will begin production at some point this year.
Now, I don’t know about you fine folks…but Geoffrey Rush HAS to play older Fleming, does he not? For a while I wasn’t convinced that the image above wasn’t already Rush.
