The cast of the hit HBO Southern Gothic horror-fantasy, True Blood, is getting more awesome.

It’s been announced that Robert Patrick has joined the show, and will be playing the father of werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello), named Jackson Herveaux. Patrick will first appear in a flashback to the ’80s when Alcide and Debbie (Brit Morgan) were teenagers, when Jackson was praised as being a “powerful, inspiring, and heroic” man. He’ll also appear in the present, but as someone who’s given up on life.

Patrick is of course known for his work as the T-1000 in James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He also appears in Cop Land, The X-Files, Walk the Line, and the upcoming Gangster Squad, among many others.

The actor will make his debut in episode 9 of the current season, set to air on August 5th.
