HBO has renewed a couple of their shows, one a seasoned vet and the other a newcomer.
The company has given their hit Southern Gothic horror-fantasy series True Blood, which just recently began its fifth season run, a sixth season order. They also ordered a second season for their new series The Newsroom.
True Blood follows Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) in Bon Temps, Louisiana, as she works her way through dangerous situation after dangerous situation involving everything from vampires and werewolves to goddesses and witches and fairies.
The Newsroom shows the behind-the-scenes inner workings of a cable news team, and all the drama that comes with it.
I’m glad HBO is keeping this show going. It seems alot of people have been incessantly bitching about True Blood going downhill, but I think the writers are doing a terrific job. Each episode this season always leaves me clamoring for next week’s episode big time. And Deborah Ann Woll is stunning as Jessica.
