Everybody knows that IMAX, digital or real, is one of the best cinematic experiences any moviegoer can have. A massive in your face screen that puts you in the movie, the best sound quality, and breathtaking scenes make IMAX well worth the price of admission. But while we all know why it’s so great, do you know how its greatness is made?
Well, a little video has popped up online explaining how you will experience The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX. Check it out below.
/Film was the first to come across the video which was filmed at Liberty Science Center IMAX theatre. The step-by-step process details just how the film goes from the rack to rolling the first frame. The projectionist also talks about how the film stock for The Dark Knight Rises is so large they now need to make a few modifications to accommodate the lengthy film (which is said to have a run time of 2 hours and 45 minutes).
It’s so rare now a days to see a side-by-side comparison of film stock, and maybe it will be the best argument to keep traditional filming alive. But the whole process of seeing how IMAX film stock works, is very cool. There’s also some neat info about some of the other mechanics of running an IMAX theater.
The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters and in IMAX on July 20th.
