Movie studios are always looking for new and interesting ways to promote their movies and one of the means they use from time to time is to place their ads on the sides of race cars, which is what we got this weekend as Warner Brothers went across the pond to the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone Circuit. The two cars of the Lotus team sported a special paint scheme promoting The Dark Knight Rises in anticipation of its July 20th release. Also appearing at the track this weekend was the Tumbler that will be featured in the film.
The paint scheme worked out well for the Lotus team as their drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean, finished fifth and sixth respectively. Unfortunately, F1 regulations disqualified the Tumbler due to an unapproved front-wing section. Also, they don’t let tanks race. Yet.
Here’s another shot of the car next to the Tumbler, along with Grosjean.
