AMC’s fantastic horror series The Walking Dead is aiming to have a huge presence at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con as they try and inject fans with more excitement for season 3 of the show, which arrives this October.
For those who missed it, Activision recently announced that they would be publishing a brand new first-person Walking Dead video game currently being developed by Terminal Reality where you’ll play as Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) as he and his brother Merle (Michael Rooker) make their way to Atlanta before most of the events of season 1.
Now comes a couple more announcements that should be exciting to those of you heading to Comic-Con—one related to the game (for a very lucky few), and another related to Michonne.
First of all, the game news. If you’re going to Comic-Con and are already so excited for the Walking Dead video game that you’re willing to pre-order it without having seen any actual gameplay footage yet (barring any that could possibly be shown at the convention, of course), the first 100 lucky people to make said pre-order at the Activision booth (#5344), will be given the extremely rare walker ear necklace Daryl wears (seen above). Which can then be sent to me! Or just kept for yourself…either way.
If you’re not able to get your hands on a necklace, there will also be cool photo opportunities made available. One of them will be related to the video game, while the other involves Michonne. Special effects master Greg Nicotero crafted a very realistic replica of Michonne (using a cast of actress Danai Gurira) and one of her “pet” zombies. The other pet will be…you guessed it: you! Now that’s a cool picture to have.
The Walking Dead returns to TV this October, and the video game will be arriving some time in 2013.
