Up until now, we’ve seen nothing but leaked photos of Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln on (or off) the set of Steven Spielberg‘s Lincoln.
The biopic would not encompass the entire life of America’s 16th president; instead it would follow the last four months of his life. Now we’ve got our first official photo of the actor as the president, minus the jeans and him eating lunch.
Check it out below.
Day-Lewis looks stoic and deep in thought, just as you imagine any president would be in times of a crisis. After all, the last four months of Lincoln’s life were spent trying to find a way to end slavery and bring the Civil War to a halt.
Tony Kushner wrote the screenplay for the film, which is based on Doris Kearns Goodwin‘s Team of Rivals. Lincoln stars Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jackie Earle Haley, Lee Pace, John Hawkes, Walton Goggins, Hal Holbrook, Tim Blake Nelson, and David Oyelowo and is scheduled to open in theaters on November 9th.
