‘The Hunger Games’ Director Gary Ross To Make Peter Pan Fantasy Next
If you ask any fans of (and any cast and crew) on The Hunger Games, they’d likely tell you they want director Gary Ross back for the sequel, Catching Fire. But Lionsgate had a strict timeframe in mind for the sequel and the two-part grand finale, Mockingjay, and Ross wasn’t willing to rush things in order to meet the deadline.
So off Ross went to find his next project, looking into many different options. But now the meticulous director has made a decision, and it looks like he’ll be working for Walt Disney next.
According to reports, Ross has chosen an adaptation of the Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson novel Peter and the Starcatchers as his next film with hopes of getting to work on it as soon as possible, most likely sometime in 2013.

The Expendables 2 proved that women could be just as tough as the guys carrying the big guns. Nan Yu may have been the beauty behind the testosterone group, but the recent success of the film has made a push for a female version of The Expendables to be made. Adi Shankar, producer of films like The Grey and Killing Them Softly, would like to see that happen. The producer has recently hired Dutch Southern to pen a script for the female edition of The Expendables. Variety reports that he would finance the film himself and that he’s in talks with some major female action stars, past and present.
Some of the most prominent members of the female action stars are Linda Hamilton, Siguourney Weaver, and Jamie Lee Curtis. All three were leading ladies in their respective James Cameron films. Then there is Lucy Lawless, who has appeared in Xena: Warrior Princess. Uma Thurman has proven her worth as Kiddo in Kill Bill. Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsale are probably the most recognizable female action stars of the newer generation.

$5 MP3 Album Deal: Thin Lizzy ‘Live And Dangerous’, Plus A Brief Remembrance Of Phil Lynott On His Birthday
|
One of the great live rock and roll albums, Live and Dangerous by the great Thin Lizzy, is now available on one sonically explosive MP3 from Amazon this month for only $5. (Browse all 1,000 albums on sale this month for only $5 each, as well as several albums on sale this week for only $2.99 each.)
Originally recorded in London, Toronto, and Philadelphia during their 1977 tour, which was supporting their Bad Reputation album, and featuring the late, great Phil Lynott on bass and vocals, (whose birthday is today) Live and Dangerous showcases the band at an absolute peak. Thin Lizzy remains one of the most underrated heavy rock bands of all time, their unapologetic, fever pitch riffs, and pot boiling rockers influenced a huge generation of musicians in the band’s wake, and they are running on all musical cylinders here on Live and Dangerous and then some. Great live versions of classic radio smashes like “Jailbreak,” “The Rocker,” “Warrior,” and the hit songs “Dancing in the Moonlight” and especially the memorable 1970s zeitgeist cruncher “The Boys are Back in Town” get elevated to new musical stretches with these live renditions. Essential for any hard rock collection, as they wax ever so memorable in the cult film This is Spinal Tap and which can be applied to this album without question, “This One Goes To Eleven.”
