These past few years we’ve been seeing an interesting twist on childhood fairytales. Red Riding Hood and Snow White and the Huntsman are perhaps the most interesting of the latest Hollywood trend, but neither match the overall silliness and absurdity that is Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
The first trailer had poor CGI, Gatling guns in medieval times, and cheesy lines. This new red-band trailer seems to be focused on the humor and the plot of the film – if you can really call it a plot.
Check out the latest NSFW trailer and the poster for the film below.
It’s really hard to get over the glaringly awful CGI in this film, especially the kind of awful CGI that was converted in 3D. But if you can’t turn your head away from the poor visuals and the bad dialogue, just focus on the senseless violence in the film, because Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton will be doing a lot of skull crushing and head slicing in this film, so maybe it won’t be that bad. Famke Janssen also stars.
Paramount originally set Tommy Wirkola‘s film for a March 2012 release, but that was before they found out that audiences weren’t responding to the film. Now the studio has scheduled Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters for the dead on arrival date of January 25th, 2013.
So what do you think?

It looks like a bad movie and a good time. If you get my meaning.
