Robert Rodriguez confirmed that as soon as he finishes his work on Machete Kills, he is going to jump right into directing Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. Well production for Machete Kills is already complete and the director is staying true to his word, as he is already beginning to work on the Sin City sequel by casting two major roles.
According to sources, Jaime King is returning to play Wendy, the sister of Goldie (who was also played by King), and Jamie Chung will play Miho (a role that was previously played by Devon Aoki). Miho will be vital to the story as she helps Dwight locate the double-dealing Ava.
The two will join Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, and Rosario Dawson, all of whom will reprise their respective roles. If you are wondering why Rourke’s character is returning, it is because the film precedes the events that took place in the first Sin City. Like the first film, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will be comprised of multiple neo-noir vignettes.
The article also puts the rumors of Angelina Jolie playing Ava at rest by confirming that the role is unfilled. Also not mentioned in the article is Clive Owen, who played Dwight in the first film. Seeing that Dwight undergoes facial reconstruction surgery, it’s likely that we will see a new face take the role. Another mysterious role that needs to be filled is Johnny, who is described as a smooth gambler.
Production for the film is already underway and is currently aiming for an October 4th, 2013 release.
Do you like Jamie Chung as a replacement? Who would you like to see play as Dwight?
