Brad Pitt may soon be jumping on board Pontius Pilate, Warner Brothers’ telling of the story of one of the infamous biblical villain of the same name.

The movie will tell the story of Lucius Pontius Pilate from his start as the son of a Roman knight, to his arrival as an aggressive and intimidating soldier that moves up to become a general, and of course his involvement in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Pitt isn’t officially attached to star in the role, but he is circling the role and could become officially attached soon.

The screenplay for Pontius Pilate is penned by Vera Blasi, who has previously written Woman on Top, Tortilla Soup, and 2012’s Emperor.
