The Fantastic Four reboot is still a few years away from release, but director Josh Trank is gathering all the necessary pieces to make this film better than its predecessor. No actors are attached to the reboot as of yet, but Fox’s Marvel Creative Consultant Mark Millar has just announced that Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn is signed on to produce. More below.
Vaughn was at one point in the running to direct Star Wars: Episode VII before J.J. Abrams was confirmed to direct. At that time he announced that he would not be directing X-Men: Days of Future Past. Millar confirmed the news via Twitter.
It seems like Vaughn will be sticking around for Fox’s Marvel Cinematic Universe longer than expected. Vaughn has already proven himself to be a very capable storyteller having already directed films like Stardust and Kick-Ass (the latter of which was created by Millar), so I’m sure that he’ll be a valuable asset to Trank during production.
The Fantastic Four reboot is due out for release in the Spring of 2015.
So what do you think? Is Vaughn a good fit?
