The cast of Christopher Nolan‘s follow-up to The Dark Knight Rises, titled Interstellar, is beginning to take shape.
The first to sign on was Matthew McConaughey, who’s recently been seen in movies like Bernie, Magic Mike, and Killer Joe. Now it’s being reported that Anne Hathaway is nearing a deal to join McConaughey on the cast. The movie would be the next for the actress after scoring her first Academy Award for her work in Les Miserables.
Details on Interstellar are being kept under lock and key, and it’s unknown who the actors will be playing and what specific story will be told. All that is known is that the movie will deal with a group of explorers who use a wormhole to time travel and visit alternate dimensions.
The movie is based on scientific theories developed by Kip Thorne, a theoretical physicist, gravitational physicist, and astrophysicist at Caltech. It was initially a project that Steven Spielberg was attached to, but he eventually departed. With the screenplay penned by Jonathan Nolan, it was easy to get his brother Christopher involved before we found out he would be directing back in January.
Interstellar is currently set for a November 7, 2014 release date.

I’m pretty excited about this movie. I love the casting thus far, especially Matthew McConaughey. It may seem unconventional, but Guy Pearce seemed unconventional for Memento as did Christian Bale for Batman. I know he’s been in a lot of silly romantic comedies, but I recently saw him in The Lincoln Lawyer and he did an outstanding job.
