‘Man Of Steel’ Is The First Step Into ‘Justice League’ Film

Man of Steel Header

After being overshadowed by Marvel Studios for some odd years, WB and DC comics are ready to launch their own cinematic universe with Justice League. The problem is that the script written by Will Beal has been scrapped, we don’t know if Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel is the first step into the Justice League movie, and WB is keeping a tight lid on the development of the long-gestating film.

But know WB president Jeff Robinov has revealed that Man of Steel is “definitely a first step” into getting a Justice League movie into development.

In an interview with EW, Robinov said that Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight trilogy is definitely a standalone franchise and has no relation to the Justice League film.

“I think you’ll see that, going forward, anything can live in this world,” he said. “[Nolan’s] Batman was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world they lived in was very isolated without any knowledge of any other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world.”

In addition, the WB president revealed that both Nolan and Christian Bale, who starred as Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Dark Knight Trilogy, will not be a part of Justice League. With Nolan busy with Intersellar, that notion makes a lot of sense.

Despite that loss, there is some positive things to come out of Man of Steel. Here’s how Robinov describes the upcoming film:

“It’s setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward. In that, Man of Steel is definitely a first step. [Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight movies] were deliberately and smartly positioned as a standalone. The world [the films] lived in was very isolated without any knowledge of other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world.”

Robinov had this to say about seeing other DC heroes in their own films:

“We’ll announce something in the next several weeks that will hopefully position the DC characters and the movies we’re going to be making”

So there you have it. Man of Steel is just the first step into the long-awaited superhero team film and there will be a huge announcement in the coming weeks.

Which DC superhero do you expect to get the big screen treatment?

  2. It’s time for a feminine touch to the superhero genre…Wonder Woman.

  3. it’s a really good news but I think if the man of steel is first step to JL movie then we still need batman reboot, wonder women. this is my idea what WB can do that on man of steel movie Flash could make cameo or introduce just like in thor they introduce Hawkeye. then on bat man reboot they could introduce green lantern aka John Stewart. and wonder women movie they could introduce hawkgirl. now every one thinking about martain manhunter. how should they introduce him. well, I think he should be introduce in JL movie. question is why ?

well, as like avengers movie, iron man, thor and captain America was the core member and that’s why they have standalone movie. so for JL I think superman, batman and wonder women is the core member and the rest of the member don’t need standalone movie. as for green lantern aka Jon Stewart; he’s not a big character on dc universe like Hal Jordan that’s why he don’t need a standalone movie. also same in hawk girl. lot people think there should be Flash standalone movie. maybe, but not necessary. if WB want they could do it after the JL movie. and martin manhuneter on JL movie cause we can make plot as alien invasion with him. And we don’t need aquaman.

  4. I realize he’s not a core member, but I want to see a Green Arrow movie. But the first JL film should have Supes, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman.

  5. I know Ian Somerhalder will be playing Nightwing in Season 2 of Arrow, but I would also like to see the character on the big screen too.

  6. This article is so strangely written, starting out with a title that reads that Man of Steel is the first step into Justice League, but immediately goes on to say in the very first paragraph that “we don’t know if Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is the first step into the Justice League movie”,then it goes on to quote Robinov saying that it is and the article ends by contradicting what it said on its first paragraph by saying that it is definitely the first step towards the Justice League…

  7. If they say this is a nice introduction to other heroes there will either be a mention in the movie of some sort of superhero like: a speedster or human with a ring in space. OR one might even make a cameo or appearance. Let us hope it happens. Flash IMO should be first just because he is another earthling that is popular in his home city.

  8. I just wished they hadn’t cancelled Young Justice.
