Hot on the heels of the first trailer that was released this morning, we have the first official poster for Thor: The Dark World.

Yea, ’tis a mighty image worthy of the god of thunder, but me suspects one of Marvel Studios’ customary “crowd as many faces into the space as possible” posters will be in the offering as we inch closer to the movie’s release.

Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Rene Russo, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, and Jaimie Alexander return from the first Thor and will be joined for the sequel by Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Zachary Levi. Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) takes over directing duties from previous helmer Kenneth Branagh.

Thor: The Dark World comes out swingin’ on November 8, 2013.
