2015 will be one huge year for the Disney company. In addition to two Pixar films, The Avengers 2 and Star Wars: Episode VII, the entertainment company will release Pirates of the Caribbean 5. The film has gone without a director for quite some time, and it almost seemed like it wouldn’t make its tentative July 10, 2015 release. Now, Deadline is reporting that Kon-Tiki directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg are signed on to direct next installment, written by Jeff Nathanson.

The concluding issue of Prisoner of Bogan continues the extraordinary level of storytelling and artwork we’ve come to expect from the Dawn of the Jedi series. Set tens of thousands of years before the events of the movies we all know and love, the series is essentially pre-history for the Star Wars galaxy, referencing many elements from all areas of the Expanded Universe, conspicuously the Rakatan Empire from Knights Of The Old Republic. The precursors of the Jedi, known as the Je’daii, are at a turning point of their times past and existence. For millennia they have striven to keep balance between the Light Side of the Force and the Dark Side of the Force. But an outsider alien rich in the power of the Dark Side, a Force Hound bound to the Rakatan known as Xesh, crash lands on the Je’daii home planet of Tython, forcing everything into imbalance.

| ‘RED’ Director Robert Schwentke In Talks To Helm Disney’s ‘The Finest Hours’ |

Both RED and the soon to be released R.I.P.D. are rich in action and comedy, but for Robert Schwentke‘s next directorial effort, there could a huge change of pace. Rather than direct another adaptation of a comic book, the director has entered talks to helm a film based on a true story for the Disney company. The Finest Hours centers on a story of U.S. Coast Guard’s heroic efforts to rescue two oil tankers during a blizzard in 1952. THR reports that James Tamasy and Eric Johnson (The Fighter) penned the script for The Finest Hours from the 2009 book of the same name, which was written by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias. In 1952, 84 sea men struggled to survive when their ship was struck by the most brutal nor’easter in years. As a result, the Atlantic froze over and produced some of the worst winter winds and The U.S. Coast Guard was sent in for a rescue.

Most of us have checked out a fundraiser that this friend or that friend posted on one of the many social media outlets, right? I’ve backed quite a few over the past couple of years, mostly comic related (of course). But this one is different. My Little Geek is a Kickstarter that needs to be funded. If not, millions of kids might not follow in their nerdy mom’s or geeky dad’s footsteps! Luckily, this is the perfect way to help. The very attainable goal will help these New Zealanders (Andrew and Sarah Spear) create and produce two board books and an app to start these pre-school kids off on the right foot! Named Nerdy Numbers and Sci-fi Shapes, these books are sure to please. They are including numeric basics like one through ten, but also threw in pi, the speed of light, and (of course) 42. The shapes book will cover the well-known squares and circles, but will also have a dodecahedron, twin helix, and the ever awesome tesseract. The app will include both of these books as well as the original My Little Geek alphabet book, which has important and memorable letters like “Z is for Zombies!” You’ll be able to level up and gain achievements as you go through the mini-games and they already have plans to add more books as upgrades!
