| Ay Dios Mio! El Primer Trailer De ‘Machete Kills’ Está AquÃ!
Hola queridos lectores! That means, “Hello dear readers.” Gotta special little treat for you today. The first trailer for Machete Kills is now live and in full, lurid color. You can check it out here below. Director Robert Rodriguez and Danny Trejo introduce the trailer in Spanish and the narrator speaks the same language throughout the trailer, but fret not you proud hablantes de inglés because the rest of the trailer doesn’t require a Babel fish in your ear to understand. It’s a surprisingly bloodless preview, but Rodriguez is still bringing the crazy like gangbusters. A little violence here, some very pretty women there, and it’s all rounded off by a special appearance by Charlie Sheen as the President of the United States. He’s credited as “Carlos Estevez,” which all of you trivia buffs will recognize as Sheen’s birth name.

| Joss Whedon Talks The Return Of ‘Firefly,’ Quicksilver & His Wish To Make A Batman Movie
It’s time for the annual (or bi-annual, or tri-annual, or monthly) Firefly update! BREAKING NEWS: It’s still canceled *shakes angry fist at Fox* as you expected. But show creator Joss Whedon did a Q&A session after a screening of his micro-budgeted filmed-in-the-back-yard-when-he-had-time-while-filming-The-Avengers take on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing at an event hosted by the Film Society at Lincoln Center. In addition to answer the obligatory Firefly question, Whedon also answered some other interesting questions, including one about the drama (or lack thereof) regarding the comic book character Quicksilver being in both Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past for Fox and Whedon’s The Avengers 2 for Marvel and Disney, and one that revealed his desire to jump into the world of Batman. What sounds like it came out from The Onion may actually have some weight to it. Considering all the big names and Oscar-nominated directors that Marvel Studios have been able to sign on in the past, Glenn Close possibly joining the cast of James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy comes as no surprise. The news comes hot off the heels that the studio was in talks with John C. Reilly, who would play Rhonamm Dey, a character that has been described as the “face of humanity” would be an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and act as the Guardians’ liaison. According to Deadline, Close would play the leader of the Nova Corps, which has been described as “the intergalactic space patrol.” The character that she is the running for could be compared to the kind of character Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) was in The Avengers movie. Filming is expected to begin in June, so we should get a confirmation of the recent casting rumors that have been surfacing in the past few weeks, plus whether or not Zoe Saldana is officially signed on to play Gamora. This role could also be the so called “peer” role that Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman, and Ken Watanabe are on the shortlist for.
