The cover story for the month of September over at Game Informer is the long-awaited third installment in the Dragon Age franchise, Dragon Age: Inquisition. The cover can partially be seen above; head to the source link below for the full show.
We’ve already seen a cinematic trailer for the game and many goodies will be shared in the coming weeks, but to kick things off, we have some new information about the game and the first ever peek at some gameplay action.
The footage is only pre-alpha in a pair of behind-the-scenes peeks at the project, but it is the first look we’ve had at the actual game, and that’s exciting for fans of the series (or at least the amazing first game). Continue below now for more info, and to check out the pair of videos that discuss the game and show off the first peek at gameplay.
The only really big thing that has jumped out to me thus far is that there will be multiple playable races. This is huge, as it harkens back to DA: Origins and the ability to choose and become your own unique character. Dragon Age II was much more limited, and that did not go over well with fans at all. Which playable races you’ll be able to choose from is not yet fully confirmed, though we do know that human, elf, and dwarf will be among the options. Fingers crossed for horned qunari!
All of the other new info is best left up to the pros in the video below, who discuss the game’s story, continuity and how your previous games may or may not affect Inquisition, and more. You can also see a couple of new screenshots from the game right here.
How do you think Dragon Age: Inquisition is look so far?

I’ve seen Boiware abandon the Warden, Hawke and Shep. I see no reason to invest my time or money in a company that continues start stories that they either abandon of put forward a poor effort in the end.
