The Stan Winston School blog posted a video detailing behind-the-scenes footage during the creation of the “chestburster” alien from James Cameron’s 1986 film, Aliens. The video is narrated by director Stephen Norrington (Blade), who was part of the creature effects team for the film and built the cable-controlled chestburster puppet. | Josh Brolin Confirms He Was In The Running To Play Batman; Defends Ben Affleck Casting
Last month we found out about some actors who were on an early list of potentials that Warner Brothers was looking at to replace Christian Bale as the new Batman in the upcoming Superman vs. Batman sequel to Man of Steel and beyond, one of whom was Josh Brolin, the star of movies like No Country For Old Men, True Grit, Men in Black III, and the upcoming remake of Oldboy. Now Brolin has confirmed in an interview that he was indeed being considered for the role. The wonderful comics artist Lea Hernandez (Killer Princesses, Cathedral Child) dropped her interpretation of “Naked Harley Quinn A With Toaster,” based on DC Comics’ controversial new art contest, onto the Internet via her Twitter on Sunday. See Hernandez’s four panels of greatness here after the jump. First, a little back story. DC Comics is holding an Open Talent Search artist contest where the winner would get to draw one page in Harley Quinn #0, the launch of the publisher’s new series by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner. The tryout script asks for all new potential artists to draw the Joker’s favorite squeeze, Harley Quinn, on one script page in four different panels acting out four different scenarios. The last panel of that page asks for Harley Quinn to be naked in a bathtub trying to kill herself with a toaster. No, really.

| ‘Star Wars’ Droid R2-D2 Spotted In ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’
R2-D2, where are you? Back in 2009, after the release of Star Trek, the reboot of the Trek universe helmed by J.J. Abrams, it was discovered that popular Star Wars droid R2-D2 had made a cameo in the film. The little blue and white astromech droid could be seen floating in space during one of the battles (see photo above, which shows the droid in 2009’s Star Trek). Now, R2-D2 has been spotted in the sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, which is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
