We’ve seen some fun flavors of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream inspired by popular culture, many of which are completely made up. An ice cream inspired by the hit Will Ferrell comedy Anchorman called Ron Burgundy’s Scotchy Scotch Scotch is one of the more unbelievable ones you could come up with, but it also happens to be very real.
The popular ice cream maker announced the new flavor—butterscotch ice cream with butterscotch swirls (but no butterscotch chips, which you’d think would be necessary to complete the scotch trifecta)—in celebration of the December 20th arrival of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The limited batch flavor is available in some Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops now, and will be showing up in pints on store shelves in the coming weeks.
Continue below to see what the pints will look like.
In a press release, Burgundy himself had something to say as well:
“Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch is a delicious ice cream and I hope Ben and Jerry consider my other suggestions, malt liquor marshmallow, well liquor bourbon peanut butter, and cheap white wine sherbet.”
The news was announced in New York at a special event at which Nutty the Waterskiing squirrel from the first movie performed, a Ben & Jerry’s van transformed into a Channel 4 News van arrived filled with Ron Burgundy clones, and free sample scoops were handed out.
