Everybody hustling. Including Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo, and Cardi B who all star in a new film which is called Hustlers. They star as a group of former strip club employees who decide to band together and come up with a plan to take back from the Wall Street types they often had to deal with at work.
Now STX has released the first trailer for the female ensemble film, which will see them take the power back, especially from those who don’t play by the rules. Check out the trailer below.
There are a lot of creative liberties taken in a “based on a true story” film, so it remains to be seen how true to the real story Hustlers is. That being said, it’s got flair. The flashiness of the colors, flowing cash, and credit card swipes are reminders of what corporate greed has access to and how they show no fear in breaking the rules and living recklessly without having to worry about suffering the consequences.
On the other hand, the cast takes advantage of that and uses those tycoons to pony up the cash. Of course, this kind of life will eventually catch up to them as they too will walk the fine line between getting what is rightfully theirs and criminal activity.
Here’s a brief description of the film:
Hustlers follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients. The film is inspired by the article published by New York Magazine entitled “The Hustlers at Scores” written by Jessica Pressler.
Elaine Goldsmith Thomas, Jessica Elbaum, Benny Medina, Will Ferrell, and Adam McKay all produce the movie along with Lopez.
Written and directed by Lorene Scafaria, Hustlers opens in theaters on September 13, 2019.
