It’s being reported that Paul Rudd, who can currently be seen in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, has entered into talks to star in Edgar Wright‘s contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man.
Rudd would play Hank Pym, a scientist who discovers a way to change his size, able to shrink down to the size of an insect and even communicate with them.
Rudd was a frontrunner for the role alone with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who recently became involved in the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman for Warner Brothers.
Wright’s previous credits include Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, and The World’s End. He also co-wrote the script for the movie with Joe Cornish (Attack the Block, The Adventures of Tintin).
Marvel has set a July 31, 2015 release date for Ant-Man.
