Back in September we saw the excellent first trailer for the upcoming HBO series True Detective, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

The series is of the anthology variety, which means any other seasons that may come will involve different characters and storylines. The first eight-episode season was written entirely by Nic Pizzolatto, and every episode is directed by Cary Fukunaga, who has previously directed Sin Nombre and 2011’s Jane Eyre, and has also been attached to the two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s It.

A new trailer has been released for the show titled “Tested,” in front of the January 12th premiere date. You can watch that plus another trailer released last week that’s titled “Changes” below.
