Jennifer Lawrence is on fire right now. The star of American Hustle and of course, Katniss Everdeen herself from The Hunger Games, Lawrence has that special quality that virtually guarantees superstardom. If Bluewater’s Fame: Jennifer Lawrence comic were capable in any way of impacting her career, she’d be in serious trouble. It is horrible.

Not a single one of the inconsistent drawings of Lawrence looks even remotely like her. You’d think with all the varying depictions of her facial features, artist Ben Eargle might’ve gotten at least one correct. Who told him she had a chiseled, square jaw? Has he seen any of her movies? Looked at a picture of her? The “baby picture” drawing of Lawrence makes her look like some alien creature. Jaw-dropping, hilariously bad. I showed it to my wife and we both had a good laugh.

I’d say that this artwork reminds me of ad agency storyboards “” rushed, disposable drawings intended only to aid the pitch of a TV commercial “” but that would be an insult to ad agency storyboard artists.

Additional laughs came at the attempts to depict Kim Basinger, Charlize Theron, Tony Shalhoub, and Jack Nicholson. So bad, it’s good.

Minimal text, most of which feels like it was lifted from Wikipedia, and no dialog, make reading this comic a 5 minute endeavor. If you’re a slow reader, that is. The only thing worth noting about the “writing” is that Michael Troy has it all wrong about the failure of Mel Gibson’s “Beaver” (sic) movie. (The title is actually The Beaver but who cares).

Troy writes that the film failed “presumably due to Gibson’s decidedly politically incorrect view of Jews, Gays, and African-Americans.” No, it failed precisely because of Gibson’s explosive bigotry. And his comments weren’t politically incorrect. Troy needs someone to explain the term to him. Political correctness is saying “personhole cover” instead of “manhole cover.” Saying the N-word and Jew-hating is simply wrong and completely offensive.

Just how ineptly is this comic written? Troy uses “wildly popular” twice in the same small sentence. Someone give this man a Thesaurus. Or a link to one.

Bah! Enough time spent on this.

Though *almost* worth recommending if you want a good irony laugh.
