We’re seeing a lot of leaks out of the Star Wars: Episode VII production, one of which was the scoop about which villains would be in the highly anticipated Star Wars sequel.
Now, our friends over at Latino Review have yet another big scoop about the film regarding another returning character. See below for more details, and obviously – possible spoilers.
Ok, so we learned that The Inquisitor from Star Wars: Rebels and an army of Inquisitors will appear in the new film, under the control of everyone’s favorite Sith, Darth Vader! Not surprisingly, the new rumor is that it will be The Emperor who, once again, is calling the shots. Latino Review reports that Emperor Palpatine will be in Episode VII and Episode VIII.
My source told me that The Emperor “100%” will appear in Star Wars Episode VII and VIII. Don’t look for confirmations from this from Ian Mcdiarmid, because he’s not portraying the Emperor this time. Will this big bad resemble the craggy old man of Return of the Jedi? Now that is the question.
That means that Emperor didn’t die as presumed at the end of 1983’s Return Of The Jedi, which, really, is not SO hard to believe. He got thrown down a shaft — we never saw a body. He could have made his way out, I mean, he’s a real powerful dude.
Badass Digest says their sources also tell them that the Emperor will appear in this sequel trilogy. And they bring up a good question – is this Andy Serkis’ mocap cameo? We know The Hobbit actor is in the new film, but we don’t know who he’s playing — this would be a logical role for him, considering previous Emperor actor Ian McDiarmid reportedly won’t be returning for the sequels. I’d love it if Serkis took up the mantle, it would be a worthy addition to his already spectacular filmography.
Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to open in theaters on December 18, 2015.
