Last week, Leonard Nimoy, who played Mr. Spock in the original Star Trek as well as in J.J. Abrams’ 2009 reboot, posted a photo to Twitter of himself with Star Wars creator George Lucas. The actor captioned the photo, “With George Lucas. Star Trek meets Star Wars. LLAP.”
Check out the full photo here below.
Seeing these two — Nimoy, 83, and Lucas, 70 — together is pretty damn cool. There was no mention of where and when the photo was taken or what the function was that the two legends were attending.
The historic “fan feud” between the two giant science fiction brands has seemingly settled down in recent years, but if you’ve ever seen Fanboys, that pretty much nails how the divide was between fans of these two franchises. Now, J.J. Abrams, who directed 2009’s Star Trek and its 2013 sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, is bridging the gap a bit by helming the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.
