Today, I did an early morning workout to the sounds of thrash metal band Sepultura. A few hours later, I get a message about “Groots Bloody Groots,” a parody of the Sepultura song “Roots Bloody Roots” as if sung by Groot from Guardians Of The Galaxy. If you know about Guardians, then you know what Groot always says — I am Groot!
You can check out the video here below for “Groots Bloody Groots,” which contains footage of Dancing Groot from the Guardians film along with excessive headbanging as well as the lyrics so you can sing along!
The parody was by engineer Luke Gibson, who wrote the following on YouTube about his mash-up:
This is just a bit of fun, and when I thought this up the other day I felt it just needed to be done. Quite surprised no one else beat me to the punch already. So here is Groots Bloody Groots in all it’s glory.
Gibson uploaded his video to YouTube yesterday, which coincided with the release of Metal Veins – Alive At Rock In Rio, Sepultura’s live album with French percussion band Les Tambours du Bronx. Yesterday, Sepultura also released a video from the concert DVD to YouTube for the song “Roots Bloody Roots”
I’m not sure if Gibson planned it this way, but good time either way. Visit Luke Gibson online at here.
This parody video totally made my day. Thanks to Geeks Of Doom Prospect @JPHarvey for bringing this to our attention. \m/
And speaking of Dancing Groot, pre-order is open now for the highly-sort-after Funko POP! Marvel: Dancing Groot Bobble Action Figure, which will be released on December 31, 2014.
