Welcome back to another sterling edition of The Digital Wire. We had some slim pickings for Blu-ray and DVD release news this week and my enthusiasm was found somewhat lacking. Still though, you might get some enjoyment out of the modest nuggets of info I’ve scrounged up.
Below you’ll find info on several future home video releases complete with technical specs, release dates, and links to pre-order at Amazon. We would greatly appreciate it if you use those links to order because a small percentage of each order helps keep this website running at max power. The cover art for certain titles has yet to be finalized.
The effects-heavy summer disaster flick Into the Storm will be cutting a path of destruction to your living room on November 18, 2014 from Warner Home Video in both Blu-ray and DVD editions. Starring Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) and Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead), the critically-derided movie will include the following bonus features:

Are you in desperate need of another Bruce Campbell fix before the next horror convention? Then consider Olive Films your pusherman because they’ll be releasing the obscure cult sci-fi horror flick Moontrap on both Blu-ray and DVD on November 18, 2014. The mighty Chin and Star Trek legend Walter Koenig star as astronauts on an expedition to the moon who have a close encounter of the violent kind with an army of alien cyborgs preparing for an invasion of Earth. Extra features on this HD-remastered release will include:

Audio commentary by Robert Dyke and Tex Ragsdale
Like it or loathe it, Brett Ratner‘s summer spectacular Hercules starred Dwayne Johnson in the role many (including himself) assumed he was born to play and has earned some surprisingly positive notices since its theatrical release. The 2D and 3D Blu-ray editions will include both the theatrical and extended cuts of the movie among a kingly array of studio-sanctioned supplements:
Theatrical version in high definition
Commentary by director Brett Ratner and producer Beau Flynn
Extended cut in high definition
