The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) takes Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) and Courtney Woods (Ellis George) on a trip to the Moon in 2049, only to find that the anticipated gravity is impossibly like that of Earth. Soon, deadly creatures begin emerging from the depths of the Moon, and the Doctor discovers that not everything is as it seems…
During TARDISblend 78, we discuss the dark and spooky aspects of the latest Doctor Who episode, hearkening back to feel of the Philip Hinchcliffe era of the series. We also look at the not-so-subtle social commentary injected into this adventure, and speculate on how some elements may tie into the overarching plot.
All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!
Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The BLENDOVER Podcast and The Heavy Metal Historian Podcast) and geek journalist Tom Cheredar of VentureBeat, TARDISblend is a podcast that takes a look at the ongoing adventures in the Doctor Who Universe – as Peter Capaldi makes his beginnings as the next Doctor!

So, I didn’t hate this episode, I think the interaction between Clara and The Doctor at the end did indeed salvage the whole thing. And places some possible foreshadowing for a Clara exit? Plus, my name is Courtney so hearing my name repeatedly being said by The Doctor was quite exhilarating. haha However, one thing I’ve now picked up on is that in pretty much every episode this series, some version of ‘Who put you in charge?’ or ‘Who made you the leader’ has been said to The Doctor. What does it all mean?! And I completely missed the ‘abortion’ references as well, guess I have a child’s mentality as well as Tom. lol And now that you mention it, omg, so obvious. Great conversation as always, guys!
