Yet another TV show based on a comic book character is on the way. Much like Fox’s current Batman prequel Gotham, a new Superman prequel titled Krypton is being developed by David S. Goyer, who also wrote Man of Steel, for Syfy.
The show is described as follows: “Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”
In addition to working on the screenplays of many movies, such as the aforementioned Man of Steel, Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, and the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Goyer is credited as the creator and writer of multiple TV series, including Blade: The Series, FlashForward, Da Vinci’s Demons, and most recently, Constantine.
