Guardians of the Galaxy was the unexpected hit of the year, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you will get a chance to experience the superhero film unlike any other that everyone has been talking about when it hits Blu-ray and DVD on December 9th. We had a chance to talk to James Gunn, the director of the film, about some of the bonus material. The special features on the Blu-ray/DVD include a behind-the-scenes look at filming, bloopers, deleted scenes that provide more context and backstory, what Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel’s recording sessions looked like, how they used the motion capture technology for Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and much more. During the event, Gunn talked about how the film didn’t exceed his expectations, finding bonus material to add to the Blu-ray/DVD, working with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, being surprised as how much freedom he had on Guardians, Phase Three, and why the film resonates so well with audiences. Hit the jump for more.

| Book Review: Guinness World Records 2015 Gamer’s Edition
Guinness World Records 2015 Gamer’s Edition
Paperback | Kindle
Guinness World Records
Release Date: November 11, 2014 I remember a time, back in my middle school and high school years, where I’d look forward to checking out the new Guinness World Records book each year. This was long before people were showered with interesting videos and images (along with plenty of stupid ones) by the web on a daily basis, so Guinness was a cool way to see some of the more unbelievable things people were up to around the world. It’s been a long while now since I’ve opened a copy of one of these books, so I was excited—especially as a huge video game fan—at the opportunity to dive into and review the latest release, Guinness World Records 2015 Gamer’s Edition. And as it turns out, Guinness has a whole lot more to offer these days than just records.

| Reflections On A Father/Son Weekend At Knotfest (Continued: Day 2 and Wrap-Up) |

When we left off with Part 1 of my Knotfest coverage, my 11 year-old son Jesse and I were crashed at the local Days Inn, worn out by a jam-packed day of killer heavy metal featuring stellar performances by Carcass, Hatebreed, Anthrax, Danzig, and live debut of the new lineup from Slipknot themselves. Day two commenced around 11:00AM with a quick swing through the Taco Bell next door for some much-needed (and way cheaper than venue prices) grub to fuel the first part of the day. Then we were off to the ten minute drive to the parking lot and a reprise of the 20 minute climb to the actual venue itself. Conspicuously absent were the “salvation by any means necessary” religious protestors from day one. It was Sunday, after all. Or maybe they just heard all of the killer metal wafting out on day one and saw the light, threw down their signs and came to the dark side. I’m choosing to believe the latter.

| Photographer Gives Heroes and Villains Renaissance Makeover (Images)
Imagine your favorite comic book, movie, and fairy tale heroes and villains if they existed during the Renaissance. What might a painted portrait of them from those times have looked like? Wonder no more. Photographer Sacha Goldberger was part of an event in Paris recently where these iconic characters—including Batman, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, The Hulk, Darth Vader, Catwoman, Princess Leia, Joker, Superman, Snow White, and others—were photographed with a decidedly old school look to them, creating a fascinating set of Renaissance painting-style cosplay images. You can check out a bunch of the images below to see how some of your favorites would have looked in a different time.
