Last we heard The Wolf of Wall Street star and future Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie, was in talks to star in DreamWorks Pictures’ upcoming live-action adaptation of the animated movie Ghost in the Shell, which is based on the popular Japanese manga of the same name. That casting ultimately did not work out.

Now comes word that DreamWorks finally has their star locked in. It’s being reported that The Avengers and Lucy star Scarlett Johansson has signed on for the movie, which is set to be directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman).

Ghost in the Shell will follow a member of a special covert ops unit that focuses on fighting technology-related crimes. Steven Spielberg himself is said to be a big fan, and getting this movie made has been a passion project of his.

The screenplay for the adaptation was written by Bill Wheeler.
