A new feature anthology movie titled Holidays is on the way from XYZ Films and new genre label Distant Corners Entertainment, and it has lined up a bunch of directors including Kevin Smith.
The movie will present a collection of short tales that will relate to various globally celebrated holidays such as Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and Mother’s Day. In addition to Smith (who directed Tusk and the upcoming Yoga Hosers for XYZ), other directors set for the anthology include Gary Shore (Dracula Untold), Matt Johnson (The Dirties), Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch (Starry Eyes), Scott Stewart (Dark Skies), Nick McCarthy (The Pact), Sarah Smith (The Midnight Swim), and Anthony Scott Burns (Manifold).
Producer John Hegeman said of the project:
“Holidays is a great opportunity for some of the most creative and twisted minds in the genre space today to really let loose and have fun.”
Holidays, which is already in production, will be the first title released under Hegeman’s Distant Corners banner, with plans to eventually release four to six titles annually.
Smith’s Tusk and Yoga Hosers are said to be the first two installments in the director’s True North trilogy. It was revealed back in April of last year that a group of actors who appeared in both of those movies would also star in a Christmas horror movie inspired by the Krampus mythology titled Anti-Claus. It was never clear, however, if that would be the third True North movie or not. Could it be that Anti-Claus will instead be part of this holiday-themed anthology movie?
