Disney Animation won’t be releasing any projects this year, but they are currently hard at work getting ready for the release of Zootopia. The film comes from directors Byron Howard (Tangled, Bolt) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph, The Simpsons), and co-director Jared Bush (Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero).

The movie gives the idea of modern crime an animalistic and animated twist. We saw a small tease of the film’s progress at the last D23 Expo, and now new concept art has been unveiled that gives us a better picture of the setting. Hit the jump for more.

In Zootopia, Nick Wilde, a fox, is on the run after framed for a crime he did not commit. Zootopia’s best cop, the bunny Lt. Judy Hopps, is assigned to the case, and some how gets caught up in the same conspiracy. Once natural enemies, the two now must work together to clear their name, and solve the conspiracy that got them framed.

During the Zootopia panel at D23, we learned that different cities will have different natural themes/habitats like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown. These animals, no matter where they come from, will be able to interact with each other.

There is no voice talent confirmed attached to Zootopia, but Jason Bateman is reportedly attached to voice the role of Nick Wilde. Disney has scheduled the movie for a March 4, 2016 release.

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other.
