Much of Disney’s Tomorrowland has been shrouded in secrecy. The film’s title would suggest that Brad Bird‘s latest, written by Damon Lindelof, had strong ties to the sci-fi portion of the Disneyland theme park, but neither of them or the two trailers or the marketing itself would reveal any answers or confirm that notion.

All we knew was that a trading pin would instantly transport the holder to a highly futuristic city at lies somewhere between time and space.

Now a new trailer is offering more clues that will help unravel the mystery behind Tomorrowland. Hit the jump to check out the latest trailer for the film.

In the trailer, we learn that a brillant scientist, Frank (George Clooney), believes that a young girl, Casey (Britt Robertson), is the key to saving the future of Tomorrowland. But there are also forces at play that will stop at nothing to prevent the two from achieving their goals.

We also see a lot more of the world of Tomorrowland, which looks more and more like a sophisticated play on the World’s Fair. The trailer also gives us our first look at Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, the film’s antagonist.

Opening in theaters on May 22, 2015, Tomorrowland also stars Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Thomas Robinson.

From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s “Tomorrowland,” a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world””and them””forever.
