Much time has elapsed since the last trailer mashup column. In that period dozens upon dozens of YouTube users have crafted intricate, thrilling, and hilarious videos that combine some of the best audio from recent trailers and placed them in the context of Disney universes.

Let’s place a spotlight on — and help spread the word about — 5 More Creative Trailer Mashups.

Monsters INCeption by YouTube user Adam Juan Morton

Christopher Nolan‘s 2010 mind-bending masterpiece gets the Monstropolis treatment with this video that depicts Leonardo DiCaprio as a giant eyeball creature. More specifically, Leo’s Dom Cobb character transforms into Mike Wazowski. The masterfully edited trailer mashup is timed precisely so that each trademark thud from Inception aligns with a concerning clip from Monsters, Inc. Of course, showing the unforgettable door vault portion from the Disney”¢Pixar classic makes perfect sense to correlate with the “dreams” element that we hear via Leo’s narration. They are similar in intensity and awe. The last scene, like the others in this mashup, are inspired. Watch it yourself!

Into The Woods (Trailer, with Disney Scenes) by YouTube user NastyChick005

How fitting that the Disney animated versions of the fairy tale characters from Into The Woods, as well as some random other Disney characters, participate in this trailer mashup. Cinderella is Cinderella, no doubt, but we also see Frozen‘s Anna as Little Red Riding Hood, The Princess and the Frog‘s Dr. Facilier as Johnny Depp‘s Wolf and Tangled‘s Mother Gothel as Meryl Streep‘s Witch. This trailer makes sense, and it’s well executed at that. In fact, much like how the latter half of Into The Woods‘ advertisement featured each of the principal actors, this one follows the same pattern, but in Disney character form. I appreciate the consideration put into matching each of the scenes as closely as possible. No doubt viewers agree. This one has amassed more than 13,000 views as of the release of this article. “Coming never,” it promises.

‘STAR WARS: The Force Awakens’ (2015): Mash-Up Teaser Trailer Parody (HD) by YouTube user BMoneyRulz

When you mix together Toy Story and Star Wars, two of the most beloved franchises of all time — well, if you forget about the Star Wars prequels that devoted fans wish to forget — your result is a trailer mashup that goes to infinity and beyond cool! BMoneyRulz, without a doubt one of the foremost trailer combination creators on the web, has developed another winner with this mixture of robots and toys. R/C takes the role of the desert droid, whereas Buzz Lightyear plays the dark, lightsaber-yielding individual. Sometimes all we need is simplicity and sincerity to accomplish a fulfilling video-watching experience. At just over one minute long, this succeeds on all counts. Star Wars: The Force Awakens may not debut for another nine months, but videos like this help ease the waiting process.

DisneyӢPixar The Avengers Age of Zurg (Mash-Up Trailer) by YouTube user TheBodoProduction

Any Disney”¢Pixar fanatic like me would be grateful for our own Avengers-like film that would team up favorite protagonists from across the animated universe. That day may not come during our lives, but at least we can count on videos akin to this to visualize our imaginary adventures. Who would have ever thought of hearing James Spader as Zurg? Apparently the minds behind this trailer mashup that gives us a blend of The Incredibles, WALL-E, Brave, and other Disney”¢Pixar features under the audio umbrella of Marvel’s next blockbuster. The action set pieces easily fit here, since we can envision how the worlds of Nomanisan Island, Monstropolis, and Ant Island could fill in for the globe-trotting locales of Avengers: Age of Ultron. The mood is far from jovial, yet viewers like you may find themselves grinning in seeing this fantastic blend of fictional worlds.

Ralph of Steel Mashup Trailer by YouTube user John Hopper

Origin stories account for a great handful of superhero movies. If we viewed Wreck-It Ralph as a tale of the birth of a life-saving individual, a guy who realizes his true potential, we can consider this 2012 animated movie as an origin story. This trailer mashup takes that idea one step further by placing Ralph in Superman’s shoes. Hero’s Duty serves as Ralph’s Krypton, an otherworldly environment marked by peril and promises of a better existence. Off he goes to Sugar Rush, Game Central Station, and other places where he discovers his capabilities. The Man of Steel trailer audio, which some might say is more compelling than the actual movie, works in wonderfully here, as Ralph, like Clark Kent, experiences a magnificent journey of self-worth. That, and falling/flying down back to the planet from tens of thousands of feet.

Which of these is your favorite trailer mashup? Share your thoughts!
