Let’s recap The Returned 1.4 “Victor” before getting to this week’s review. There will be spoilers for both so be warned!

Last week we got a glimpse into how little Victor (Dylan Kingwell) died 29 years ago, a result of a home invasion. One of the intruders tried to hide him and make him feel better, “sing a song inside your head,” to no avail. Julie’s (Sandrine Holt) neighbor ends up brutally dead. What does Victor have to do with it? She finally agrees to turn Victor over to Nikki (Agnes Bruckner), who brought him to Peter’s (Jeremy Sisto) community center. Annie (Michelle Forbes) also finds sanctuary there. Lena (Sophie Lowe) passed out and ended up in the hospital, dying we think, from a growing gash in her back that mirrors Camille’s (India Ennenga) death blow. Jack (Mark Pellegrino) is taken in as a suspect in the stabbing of Lucy (Leah Gibson). Rowan (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) hides Simon (Mat Vairo) in the attic. Unbeknownst to her (but not for long), Tommy (Kevin Alejandro) has cameras all over the house and witnesses her romp with Simon. She doesn’t seem to be horrified that he found out, just that he’s been spying on her.

The Returned 1.5 “Tony and Adam” review: Seven years ago is when Tony (Aaron Douglas) lost his mom and brother Adam (Rhys Ward). I had thought Adam was his son when we first met them together. One of the mysteries of this show is answered in this scene. It is then followed by a gruesome murder. Now in the present, this family might be worse off than they were before.

Victor finally speaks a sentence or two, and Peter is not going to like what comes out of his mouth. But we kinda suspected based on last week. Nikki is suspicious also.

Rowan makes a choice. I don’t know whether to be happy or sad about it, or what I would do under the circumstances.

That twin sharing feelings thing happens again between Lena and Camille, and the confrontation gets ugly. There is a bright spot for Camille when she meets Simon and doesn’t feel quite so alone.

This episode had my mind reeling. Where I got some answers – eating women’s stomachs, not just stabbing (ewww!), I got more questions (deer suicide?). I like how I really don’t know who is a good guy and who is a bad guy (girl). Well, for the most part anyway. Just when I think I have that figured out, something happens to make me question it. This show definitely keeps me on my toes.

The Returned airs Monday nights at 10pm on A&E.
