Delicious episode this week! But before that, let’s recap iZombie from last week.
Liv (Rose McIver) found the meaning of YOLO inside, after eating the adrenaline junkie brains of an old college friend. Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) did not get in trouble this week — a refreshing change. His boss is a zombie too. They are everywhere! Major (Robert Buckley) went to the skate park to find the Candyman. He found him and got his ass kicked. The reason I said I was confused last week, was because they went from a shot of Major bleeding on the sidewalk, to a bodybag, to Liv riding a bike through the streets exhilarated. I really thought that Major was in that bodybag, which would have been a shocker whether or not he was really dead or a new zombie. Liv meets a potential zombie boyfriend. And boy, is he cute!
iZombie 1.6 “Virtual Reality Bites” review: Time for my lighthearted supernatural comedy with my zombie heroine. And it does not disappoint.
“The man’s too good-looking. I’m giving him character,” Ravi (Rahul Kohli) says as he’s poorly stitching up roomie Major’s face. Ravi! You’re so funny! On a more serious note, Major is not giving up his hunt.
The corpse of the episode is a bloated hated agoraphobic troll who has been dead for a while. He’s ripe. There’s no visible sign of homicide, but since there’s doubt, Liv has to eat the disgusting gray liquified brains. Not to imply that regular brains aren’t disgusting, but it’s all relative. The room starts wavering when she steps out of her apartment. Is that really what agoraphobia is like? She also gets some awesome computer gaming skills.
Liv and her zombie crush, Lowell (the very handsome Bradley James) get to know each other. It does not go quite as expected. I hope this develops further, even though I’m liking Major more and more.
Jackie starts eating a la carte and Blaine (David Anders) realizes he has to take care of it.
The end does not bode well for someone close to Liv.
The episode was 99% perfect. The only thing I’m unsure about is the way the troubled teens acted during group. Not sure I believed it. But zombies, yes. Those I believe in.
iZombie airs Tuesday nights at 9pm ET on The CW.
