This week’s Louie started with his classic standup at The Comedy Cellar, which is the best part of him and his show. It also set up the rest of the episode as it usually does.
Louie (Louis CK) takes Jane (Ursula Parker) to the doctor. And it is Jane who has the spotlight. The doctor doesn’t want to hear Louie’s opinions but does ask Jane, and she describes seeing electrons and feeling like she’s returning to nothing like before she was born. The doctor tells her to drink a glass of water. I love this. It really showcases his quirky daughter.
I love episodes of Louie with his kids. Even though he still ends up in awkward situations like… The mom of Lily’s friend wants him to help her move a giant fish tank. He can’t and that is smart of him, but she starts crying because her husband left her. His reaction is sooo good.
Holy shit! I got scared during an episode of Louie. More than once too.
He’s having nightmares. This is the shit I’m really into on my television shows. I don’t usually expect it on Louie, but I’ll take it. This was my favorite of this season so far. He cannot tell dreams from reality, until crazy stuff happens. Then is the moment of realization, just like in real life. It’s great – very relatable.
Ultimately he figures out why he is having those dreams, and it wasn’t what I thought at first. The montage that follows is fantastic. I cannot emphasize enough how freaky his dreams are. Its gonna give me nightmares.
